About

Idyll's End is my baby, my pet project. Right now, everything else has been shelved until it is finished.

Yes, it is true that it is based on Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, but it has been considered an original idea as it is set in an entirely new land that the characters are unfamiliar with. The Drazi Empire and its traditions and culture are entirely my own, and I like to think that I have made a believable world that lives on its own. Though...it wasn't always that way. IE has come a long way, and very little of the version you see before you is the same as the version I started with about a year ago in 2008 or thereabouts.

It had progressed from a very (VERY) weak story involving a princess with no real motive except to run, and a relationship that no one would have believed if they were real people, to...

An Empire in turmoil, and literally rotting from within. A repressed princess with no real way to turn, until her destiny collides with the man her mother and brother have been waiting for. A cast of characters who breathe and are relatable and human. Though, as I delved more into what the story was in essence, I found it to be a lot darker than I had originally planned. But this is the one we went with.

Thanks to...

My two lovely lovely friends, Art and Dai, my coauthor and editor (respectively). I owe them this story and everything about it. Without them, there is no way this would have been possible. IE would have remained the lame story that it had begun as, or even more likely, I would have abandoned the idea all together. Thank you, both of you. I am grateful to the both of you more than I could ever say, as both friends and writer to writer.

Also, to my readers. I love you guys, all of you.

To Yola.com and synthasite for hosting this insanity.

To Nintendo and Intelligent Systems for spitting Ike out into the world, and giving us a good story and land along with him. Now, about that Tellius sequel...

To my best friend (she knows who she is), for listening to me rattle on and on about this monstrosity. Trust me, it will be so worth it as this goes along.

To my parents, particularly my father. I owe you a lot, Dad, and I won't ever be able to pay back my debt to you. You are the reason I am who I am today. I love you so much.

The Creator

I do not give out my real name online (call me paranoid, but this is not going to change. If you want to know, just ask me.), but I like going by my name on the website deviantART, which is LadyCalypso. I was born in April 1989, I just recently turned twenty. I was born in America, but where I live is also something I keep to myself.

I can no longer really say "I want to be a writer when I grow up!" because I'm an adult now, but I do want to make writing my profession, as it is my passion.

My favorite things to do besides writing...

...I like to read, but I have difficulty finding books I like. Recent ones that I can't put down are "The Secret", "Angels & Demons", and "Memoirs of a Geisha".

...I love movies, to the point of being a total movie nerd.

...Manga and anime are also guilty pleasures. You should all check out keiiii's excellent storytelling at haru-sari.com. Haru-Sari is one of my recent addictions.

...I love playing games, board games, video games, or even Rock Paper Scissors.

FAQ

Do you have AIM/Yahoo/MSN?

I do, but I'd rather you email me to ask.

Will you write my story?

I do commissions for writing on deviantART, but for the most part, if it interferes with Idyll's End, there may be a problem.

Will you write a story for [insert fandom here]?

It depends on IE, really. I hate to say that, but it's true. I don't know how long it'll take to finish this story, but I'm pretty much shelving everything else until it's done. I've been asked if I'll do a story for Marth or Roy, and I can answer that for sure. My emphatic answer is no, I will not.
